Steampunk Separates Bundle 18 Inch Doll Sewing Pattern
This steampunk digital doll clothes pattern bundle will let you sew an amazing steampunk outfit for your 18-inch doll. It includes the Bustle Layer Skirt, High Neck Blouse, Mini Top Hat & Fascinator and Waist Cincher patterns.

The steampunk movement is built on Victorian science fiction and fashion. As such, steampunk fashion uses the Victorian and Edwardian eras as a basis and builds from there.
Skill Level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate
Tools and Materials:
Bustle Layer Skirt
- 1/3 yard of light to medium weight cotton, broadcloth or blends as a main fabric
- ¼ yard of light to medium weight cotton for the ruffles
- 10 inches of 5/8 inch to ¾ inch wide ribbon for bustle channels
- 24 inches of 1/8 inch wide ribbon for bustle
- 2 ¼ inches of ¼ inch to 3/8-inch-wide ribbon for back cincher
- 5 inches of 1/8 inch wide ribbon for back cincher
- 13 inches of 1/8 inch wide ribbon to lace back cincher
- Two sew in snaps
- Six ¼ inch wide buttons
- Small piece of double-sided tape
- Dressmakers tracing paper and tracing wheel or other temporary marking tool
- Small safety pin
- Universal needle
- Matching thread
High Neck Blouse:
- 1/3 yard of light weight cotton, silk, polyester or blends
- Five sew in snaps – 5mm size
- Microtex needle
- Matching thread
Mini Top Hat:
- 9 inch by 7-inch piece of light weight leather or vinyl with some give (If your vinyl or leather doesn’t stretch at least a tiny bit, it won’t work well for this project)
- 5 ¾ inch by 3 ½ inch piece of thin cardboard (e.g. cereal box)
- 5 ½ inches of ½ - ¾ inch wide ribbon or trim
- 8 inch by ¼ inch piece of 2mm craft foam
- Glue
- Gears and/or other decorative items
- 8 mini brads (optional)
- Awl (only needed if applying optional Straps)
Fascinator:
- 3 ¼ inch by 3 ¼ inch piece of light weight leather or vinyl with some give
- 4 inch by 4-inch piece of thin cardboard (e.g. cereal box)
- 3 ¼ inch by 3 ¼ inch piece of felt
- 9 ½ inches of 1/8 – ¼ inch wide ribbon or trim - Optional
- 7 ¼ inch by 7 ¼ inch of net or tulle
- Glue
- Gears, feathers, flowers and/or other decorative items
- Thin ribbon, lace, strands of pearls etc.
- Needle and thread
- Awl (only needed if applying optional Straps)
Waist Cincher:
- 7 5/8 inch by 7-inch piece of light weight leather or vinyl with some give (If your vinyl or leather doesn’t stretch at least a tiny bit, it won’t work well for this project)
- 3 x 5/8-inch jump rings
- 5 x 1/8-inch-wide brads
- Glue such as Craft Goop
- 1 inch by 3/8-inch pieces of hook and loop tape* OR
- 2 x 5 mm sew-in snaps* and a 1-inch-long piece of ¼ inch wide ribbon
- Trim and embellishments (optional)
- ¼ to ½ inch wide ribbon (optional – used to cover up brad prongs on the inside of the Waist Cincher)
*You can use either hook and loop tape or sew-in snaps as the closure for the cincher. The sew-in snaps make a sturdier closure.
