Mori Girl Collared Dress 18 Inch Doll Sewing Pattern
This digital PDF doll clothes pattern will let you sew a collared dress and skirt in the Mori Girl style to fit your 18 inch doll.
If you see a girl that looks as though she is a fairy tale forest dweller who has just stepped out of an enchanted wood, chances are good you’ve spotted a Mori Girl. Born in Japan as a subculture, Mori Girl style embodies living in the moment and living in harmony with nature.
Mori (meaning forest) Girl style is all about natural fibres and colours from nature – creams, browns, greens and autumnal oranges, reds and yellows. The style also favours a lot of layering. This dress can be used as a ‘foundation layer’ for Mori Girl style, but also works as a cute, everyday dress.
You can choose to line your dress or make it with facings. The lined version can be made as a reversible dress. Two looks in one! This dress also works well in 1960's prints. Make it Mod!
The Collared Dress coordinates with other KeLibu Mori Girl patterns for 18-inch dolls.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Tools and Materials:
Skirt:
- 15 ½ inches by 5 ¼ inches of light weight cotton or blends for the skirt body
- 2 ¼ inches of 45-60 inches of soft mesh or lace fabric for the skirt ruffle. Note that tulle will not work. You will be cutting a strip the entire width of your fabric, which is why a range of 45-60 inches is specified. Longer strips will provide more fullness.

- 11 inches of 3/8 inch wide elastic
Reversible Option:
