Sofie's Nutcracker Solider Dress 18 Inch Doll Sewing Pattern

Sofie’s Nutcracker Soldier Dress pattern is designed to fit 18 inch dolls such as American Girl®. Sofie Clareese Doll Fashion is not affiliated with American Girl®, Mattel® or any other doll or toy manufacturer. No endorsement is implied.

The jacket is fully lined, with decorative front overlay of gold trim and buttons, sleeve and neck have gold trim and it closes in the back with snaps. Included are Epaulets that can easily be attached to shoulders temporarily or permanently.

Jacket is made of faux suede for an appropriately scaled velvet look. The jacket is neutral gender style so with a few changes in embellishments and a pair of pants the jacket and hat works for boys also.

The pleated circle skirt with sewn down front pleats is also faux suede for a wool look in scale and texture. The skirt has a stenciled border with gold metallic fabric paint for an ‘embroidery look’ hem embellishment. The back closure for skirt has an adjustable knife pleated that closes with a snap at waist.

The hat is made with styrene and faux leather with elastic chin strap, cording, gold trim and gold metal military buttons.

The outfit has detailed pattern pieces with tutorials and ‘how to’ for every part of the garment construction. Sewing is intermediate skill level with a basic knowledge of crafting.

FAUX LEATHER:  One piece approximately 12 inch by 24 inch

STYRENE: One piece styrene lampshade material approximately 10 inch by 16 inch with adhesive on one side.

TRIM:  Gold at least 1/2 inch wide 18 inches long to go around the top of the hat. Red cord at least 14 inches long for above brim of hat.

BUTTONS: Two 1/2 inch military buttons.

BEAD FINDINGS AND PLUME:  2 Jewelry findings glued together and a boa type feather folded to make a plume. Hot glue to center of finding.

ELASTIC: Black 1/4 inch wide, one piece at least 8 inches long
